Chapter 13 - The Trail of Courage

After the fall of Ganon, many of his henchmen monsters remained, waiting their master's return. Just before Link's 16th birthday the crest of the kingdom appeared on his hand. Confused and worried about why it happened he went to talk to Impa to find out about it.

She took him to the North Palace and led him to "the door that does not open". But when the door came in contact with the birthmark the lock that was on the door was removed and the door was opened.

Inside was the Princess Zelda, upon entering the room Impa began to tell the Legend of Zelda. The magician who put a spell on the young princess causing her eternal sleep. The only way to awaken her, said Impa, was to retrieve the final piece of the Triforce, the Triforce of Courage. This piece was located in the Great Palace. Impa told him that the only way to be able to enter the palace was to place six stones is statues in palaces all around Hyrule.

Link knowing what he had to do set off to save the Princess. He braved the obsticles one by one, all of the guardians made to protect the statues, Ganon's minions and many new dangers. Link explored much of Hyrule going from one palace to another.

Once he put in the last crystal he thought his journey was coming to an end but he still had much more to face. The Great Palace was one of his greatest obsticle. Now that the great barrier was removed he could enter the palace, in reality though a giant maze.

At then end were his two hardest obsticles to overcome. The first was the Thunderbird. Though extremely difficult he used his wits, skill and courage to destroy the evil beast. Though he thought his quest was coming to a close his hardest obsticle was yet to come, his own shadow. Link had to beat himself and once he did he was awarded the prize of the Triforce of Courage. Now that the Triforce was complete he had the power to awaken the princess from her eternal slumber.
